Top Pieces From the Past Decade
So I’ve compiled a list of my favourite/most ambitious pieces from the past decade. I was originally trying to pick one piece a year, but you’ll see that if I had a couple favourites from one year in different mediums, I posted both.
Let’s count it down!
2019
2019 started off with a bang. Here is a coffee table I made for myself out of walnut, maple, aluminum and… art.
2018
This is a 5ft long 3D sculpture made out of wood, metal, and LEGO (The yellow hazard strips). Its an accurate scale model of a portion of Dufferin Subway Station, except maybe 40 years in the future and infected with some sort of alien mechanical organism.

2017
First we have a sizeable triptych I’m particularly fond of. This was a beast to paint, with the line work requiring extra precision to maintain parallelism.
Next we have here a massive 48” x 96” installation for my good friend Hubert at CTRLroom.
Its entirely made out of wood, with some fancy LEDs to bring it to life. Hubert gave me complete creative control and the final reveal was a big surprise for him.
I’d like to do more installations like this in the future, these types of jobs are few and far between though!

2016
This was a really fun sculpture to make. Plastic, wood, fibre optics, wood and some electronics all came together to create this battery powered future city sculpture.

2015
Apparently 2015 was a slow year for art… I couldn’t find much, but here’s a neat canvas…
2014
And 2014 was a VERY productive year for art… But this is my favourite. I was given some guidance from a fellow artist a couple years prior on how to execute “realism”. This represents the pinnacle of that skill set during that time, and the integration of some abstract elements really tied it all together.
2013
To be honest I’m not sure how I wrapped my brain around painting this. It’s all done with custom mixed paint markers. A view of some Coast Guard rescue divers from a helicopter.
2012
Another slow year for productivity as I was in school for fire fighting. Still managed to crank this one out, and I don’t think I’d be able to do something like this again!
2011
This was such a fun summer. Blasting this out with my pal KIZMET in harsh July heatwave conditions was magical.
2010
And finally, my largest traditional painting commission (so far…). Here we have a 48” x 84” abstract piece I painted in the bedroom of my apartment at the time. Its a custom frame I assembled inside my apartment and ended up being too large to fit down the stairs when it was done. So I tossed it over the balcony.
Gently…
Thats it! I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory loss lane. Check out the links in the post!
